Most of us use formic as a general solvent to treat and condition the hive
wood. In doing so *if* we kill a few varroa so be it! Did I detect anger in
your response?

In Missouri this spring I will be the last commercial beekeeper in my area
left. Osage Honey Farm (est. 1955 and the ABF toured the farm when the
convention was held here is gone), Thompson Honey Farm (est. 1960 ) is gone,
Mathis Honey Farm (est. 1926 is gone), Paul's Honey Farm ( est. 1970 ) is
gone and this spring Bell Hill Honey (est. 1974) will be gone.

A total of 270 years of commercial beekeeping.
Gone!
I worked alongside EVERY one!

All of the above commercial beekeepers were in my opinion way above average
beekeepers!

In Nebraska where Missouri Valley Honey farm does business he is all that's
left of the five large operations which were around a couple decades ago.

Commercial beekeeping survives because of the beekeepers. Little help from
the USDA. No help with loans to replace bees or loans to stay afloat since
bees started dying in 2006.

Has been thirty years since we had a bee inspector in Missouri . Last was
Joe Franca!

No money for a bee inspector Missouri says!

I would trade Canada's bee people for the U.S. any day. ------- for Medhat!

The AHPA & ABF make resolutions to get us oxalic acid & formic but never
happens.

My 2 cents worth!

Thanks Bill R. for your research! Thanks to Allen Dick for the *free*
information on his website. These are beekeepers helping beekeepers!

Peter wisely advises to "Avoid using unregistered products" .

Peter we would never consider doing nothing like that even though nobody is
looking.

Sincerely,
Bob Harrison
Missouri
