   According to my chemical handbook, propolis is completely dissolvable in
ethyl alcohol --- and I have found that to be true.  It should not be too
hard to find denatured alcohol, the higher the concentration, the better.
 
   For bad stains of various kinds, I soak the material in BIZ solution
(commercial laundry pre-soak and bleach available in grocery stores)
overnight in a bucket, wring (or spin out) the solution the next day, and
then put it through a general wash cycle.  BIZ has even taken out India
ink.
