My chief comment would be, I am very glad to have Dennis, et al. working on this problem. I know Dennis and I believe he has the welfare of the bee industry as a whole at heart. Beyond that, it has been apparent for a long time that our problem is *not just* varroa, though perhaps varroa is the only thing we can really knock down reliably. For my part, the colonies that failed on me this winter had high mite levels, the ones that survived had the lowest levels. I knocked the mites down with thymol, but too late in the season.
