Health Canada has announced a 3 year phase out of imidacloprid and that it
will also be reviewing clothianidin and thiamethoxam. This is a little
bit surprising as they had published an assessment of imidacloprid earlier
this year that concluded it didn't present significant risk to
polllinators. It is the imidacloprid that is being found in waterways and
the damage to aquatic insects that is driving the phase out.
