California has the most restrictive and well-regulated system of pesticide
use in the nation, yet is still the number one agricultural state, as well
as a predominant beekeeping state. Our growers and beekeepers compete on
the same playing field with those who are unburdened by such regulations.
Most Calif beekeepers are happy with the situation.

I'm not inviting anyone to move to Calif or to be a beekeeper, so nothing
personal Charlie : ) But my paperwork requirement for reporting pesticide
uses takes me less than a an hour a year. Hardly too burdensome IMHO.

Anything seems impossible until everyone is doing it. We can improve the
pesticide situation in the U.S. Calif is not yet perfect in that regard,
but we are WAY ahead of most states.
