Selling at farmers markets is an art and a big commitment. One has to
attend quite a few unprofitable markets in the off-season to keep a
place for the profitable ones, usually in later summer and early fall,
and around Christmas.

We did 7 markets each week while we were building up to scale. We
did well enough that we were able to go from selling a kg at a time to
where we could ship truckloads at wholesale prices.

It is quite a grind, but for a good marketer with persistence, the
opportunity is there, but it takes more than a casual approach.
