I combined a hive in mid-Sept by placing the weak hive bottom brood box on
the strong hive's top brood box separated by paper. The weak hive had a
good supply of honey and was accepted by the stong hive. The top brood box
of the weak hive was basically put into the freezer as all frames had good
stores. The question I have is do I leave the three brood box situation
alone until spring or should I be removing the third brood box at some point
in time. The weak hive had no queen.
