I saw them try the same in S. America.  One can't file for patents in  a 
100 countries, by filing in one.  Its also a scam - since we still don't  know 
what causes CCD, we can't very well cure it.
 
FYI, the US patent law received a major overhaul this year.  One of  the 
new provisions is to be able to more easily challenge 'patents', and with  
time, there will be a tightening up of the patentability requirements.
