Getting back to the "Subject:" tag, I finished checking my remaining
yards today, and all I can figure is the beekeeper who was quoted in
the article that started this whole thread must be from a different
"northeast" than am I.

As I already reported, the first yard I checked was dismal. Second
yard was great. And my final assessment today is overall, I am seeing
the best bees for this time of year that I have seen in years, perhaps
EVER! Most colonies look like May hives (swarming season), not
February (late winter) hives.

Note: this assessment is based on frame top examination, I did not
pull frames or examine brood. So admittedly I am judging a book by
its cover, but in my corner of the northeast, the bees look GREAT!

Aaron Morris - thinking the "other" northeast!
