" With EFB there are
usually both capped and uncapped brood affected. "

I see two to five nucs every year with EFB. I have never seen a cell capped with a dead larva. I have seen thousands and thousands of empty cells that should have been capped brood but were not because the larva sickened and were removed by the bees before they even died.
