I assume Southern beekeepers are taking more care in capturing swarms
nowadays - correct?

Are you kidding?
These swarms are money. In Tucson some people have gotten $150.00 to remove
them.
Here in Deming, NM I get from $30.00 to $50.00 to remove them.
Then I put them into a hive and move them to the desert. After some time I
check them and remove combs of brood and put them with hives I want to build
up. I use them as opposed to destroying them. They build 4.9 foundation
great.

Lee
