I too have used bee stings on joints that ache over the last 25 years. I started by grabbing bees and getting them to 

sting finger joints that ached in the fall at the advent of damp cold weather. Lately I did the  same for my right lower thumb joint that apparently now has a bone spur. 

I have to say that I've had long term relief. I'll put on 2 or three stings right on the joint. It's funny how some bees can't be prodded to sting and I'll have to release them and find another bee that is game. 

Proof is in the pudding. I don't need studies to tell me. I actually like the warm afterglow.
