These electrically heated oxalic dispensers seem to me to be unnecessarily complicated and expensive. I made my own from a length of copper pipe with a stick to bung one end and act as a handle. The other end is hammered to an oval shape that will fit into the hive entrance. Half a level teaspoon of oxalic crystals are poured into the pipe. The end is then inserted into the hive entrance and sponge or rag closes the rest of the gap. Heat is applied with a camping gas stove. I wear overalls, mask and goggles and work from upwind, purely because of Murphy's law but, so far, they have been unnecessary.

Chris
