Bob said that Michael was influenced to write the book by some well known
organic
beekeepers

I don't know if this is true or not. However, at the time that Michael was
working on this book, a group of vocal organic beekeepers kept promoting the
fiction that organic bees didn't have CCD.

One of the very first reports of CCD came to me from an organic beekeeper,
and then we got others, and finally areas supposedly free of CCD got CCD.
Organic beekeeping IS NOT and HAS NOT been an insurance policy against getting
CCD. It simply is not true based on surveys and samples that we've received.
