David Green ([log in to unmask]) posted a message about Vandalism.

My heart goes out to the beekeeper victim and others who have put their
work time into building a new bee business, only to have their dreams
destroyed by a few thieves.

We certainly need more individuals like him to carry on the beekeeping
tradition.

I have three questions:

1: Can beekeepers buy insurance to help recoup losses from man made or
natural disasters?

2: It appears that selecting a location to place hives is very important.
What criteria is used to pick the "perfect" apiary location?

3. Guard bees defend the hive; what anti-vandalism devices are there on
the market that deter these crimes short of 24 hr sentry "human" apairy
guards?
