Re Cell death localization in situ in laboratory reared honey bee

What I found interesting about the above study is that the cell
apoptosis appeared to be more of a generic response to pesticides,
rather than specific for any particular one.  This may indicate that
the bee gut responds to any sort of toxin by simply sloughing off
cells.  They do the same when one treats with oxalic acid.
