The problem with large-scale adoption is
he labor involved should the bees not build the combs straight and within
he frame boundary.





The easy way is to cut out the centre of DISEASE FREE old brood combs leaving a 'footprint' around the edge. The brood pattern on the rebuilt comb has to be seen to be believed!  I have no trouble with comb straying beyond the frames but I do ensure that my hives are level.
