The question below was posted on another honey bee list and I thought it rather intriguing.  Would any of you happen to be able to shed some light on this question?   Mike in LA

.....   But at times I've encountered some good dark strains which I can't differentiate from carniolan or caucasian.   Russian bees look the same as these 2 to me. So what I'm wondering is whether anyone has done the genetic research or can otherwise demonstrate that there are differences that make the Russian strain unique.
