As a researcher, I often use CO2 to put bees to sleep.  However, too much and they overdose, never to waken again.  We measure the amount and duration of the dose, time it to keep the effect as short as possible.  Still, it's better than nitrous oxice which can cause memory loss.


Alcohol washes are fatal, but maybe the bees go drunk and happy?
