I just read something in Scientific American on an article regarding releasing
a bug that eats melaleuca trees (an Australian plant that's ravaging Florida
swamps) and they mentioned in passing that a bug that eats purple loosestrife
_was_ released in 1992 and is only now barely showing effects.
