A Western Australian honey producer is not giving up trying to get his
product into New Zealand.

The New Zealand Government allowed honey in three years ago, but stopped
after pressure from the country's beekeepers, who were concerned about
diseases.

The Ministry of Agriculture is considering allowing Australian honey in
again, but beekeeper Eddie Planken says after 26 years of trying, he doesn't
like his chances.

"I think I'm a little more pessimistic," he says.

"It just seems that every time that there's a window that comes of hope,
there's another road block that gets put up' and I think there's been enough
put up that I really, I can't say that I'm terribly optimistic.

"I'd like to think I am."
