6 apiaries, Italian vs. Russian colonies, sun vs. shade, stocks  
separate or "comingled".  "Mite bomb" possibilites in some of the  
apiaries are described.  See Fig. 1 and 2.  Note that both Russian and  
Italian colonies did show increases in mite numbers even when the  
stocks were in separate apiaries.
