I doubt bees have brood in the Northern Kingdom of Vermont on New Year's
day, regardless the unseasonably warm weather. I have not seen brood in my
hives in upstate New York, I suspect Vermont is the same.

What most concerns me about the weather is not rapidly going through stores
too early in the season; if there are to be store problems I'll address
them in March. What worries me is that many buds started to open around
Christmas, and now that weather patterns are becoming more normal I am
concerned that the opening buds will freeze now and there will be none come
spring. But again, if there are to be store problems I'll address them in
March.

Aaron Morris - thinking winter is easy, spring is hard!

PS: Happy New Year!
