"Or perhaps poor winter stores and lack of opportunity for cleansing flights??"

Right, Peter, but in areas where this has never been a problem...poor winter stores....all that is left is lack of opportunity for cleansing flights. Maybe that did kill a lot of NYS bees last winter. But since they "let go" inside the hives....and since many of the bees in the deadouts were dispersed instead of clustered....I am dubious.
