Thank you for responding Allen.

This seems to be a very complex subject, there also appears to be a lot of hype.  I would like to explore more if for no other reason than the fact that essential oils get such positive reviews.

What I have found already is that it is more or less impossible to know what quantities of oils to add (to a sugar / water syrup).  Honey-B-Healthy ingredients are no secret but the proportions are totally unknown.

I have just found a manual on bee nutrition.  It is published by the Australian Government and available for free download.   A big chunk of the manual is data but the rest is very interesting reading.  The manual is called "Fat Bees Skinny Bees".  The advanced search features of google will bring this up for you if you want to take a look.  Not finished reading this yet but it looks promising.

You ask where I am based .......  Chiang Mai which is North West Thailand.
