A second data point is the Bill Hesbach article "Superorganism Resilience"
(ABJ June 2018), described as a "peer-reviewed article", although authored
by a beekeeper, not an academic.  

Content, not credentials.  As the Royal Society of London put it in 1663:
"Nullius in verba", although better Latin would have been "Nihil in verbis".
