I agree that the use of the term "feedlot" is inappropriate with regard to honey bees. However, there are serious issues with colony density, migratory beekeeping, overlap of apiaries, etc. 

What can be done about this, is another story. In some states there are regulations on apiary spacing, but in most regions nothing prevents beekeepers from "sitting on top of each other" except their own actions.
