Yes and no. The key to most tests or trials is to control variables, which
is close to impossible in the field. Without knowing what is out there, you
may get results that have nothing to do with what you think you see.

Which is indicative of this discussion. We see things in the field and jump
to the conclusion our prejudices dictate.
