AFAIK it is *illegal* to use the stips in any other way than in the
manner indicated on the label -- at least in hives producing honey for
human food.
 
I believe that in most developed countries there are strong
penalties for abuse of pesticides.  Apistan *is* a pesticide.
 
There are many different ways that people do in fact use strips, but
abuse will certainly lead to loss of registration or effectiveness.
 
Those who read this list will know that this is a theme that keeps
repeating here.  Other than bona fide researchers, users should RTFM
and try to stick to that.
 
IMO, anyhow.
