When the honey flow is over bees to look other sources of honey. Reduce
entrances on all hives after main flow. Especially weak hives.

Most commercial beekeepers would NOT keep those hives of five deep hive
bodies. You want all hives in the apiary the same strength.

Decide on the size you want (one, two or three hive bodies) and stick to the
rule. Next spring take a couple hive bodies away (from the bottom) as those
below should be empty.

Swarming is fun to watch for the hobby beekeeper but is considered a big
loss in honey production by the professional beekeeper.

Take off all lids in the yard when robbing starts and the bees should settle
down.

Bob
