If I had yards with equal strength hives this would not be a problem and I
would use the Mendes method or barrel feeding as Allen uses. Just for my
unorganized one man operation until I organize I can't use it.

I do use Mann lakes 1.5 gallon cap an ladder feeders but they take the
place of 2 frames and leaves proper room with prop'ed frames.

I mix the syrup in a 275 gallon tote with a hole cut in the top for me to
lean over in and use a mortar mixer from harbor freight. It sits in the
back of my pickup and I gravity feed into 5 gallon buckets and carry an
empty extra one and half fill for easy lifting. I then use a funnel that
fits properly and simply slide my migratory tops back just enough and fill.

No smoke and it moves pretty quick.

For me it's the best method to date.

I do plan to upgrade to a semi-trash pump but we will see that's more
money... I'm pretty cheap...

I fully agree with the fact you have to know your situation, time of year,
etc and change as needed... Playing around and failing sometimes if done
right can be a good thing as you learn for yourselves...
