Your post somehow ended up in the Junk folder!  Just found it.

Years ago I used to help a lady who wore very expensive perfume.  Her bees were always dreadful.  Then I went to inspect them when she was on holiday - no problems!

I find that colony temper usually changes very quickly when the queen is changed - sometimes it is almost instant - so I am hoping that is what will happen in this case.  If not then we will have to move them away for a few weeks.
