Hi all

In a way this is happening... There are 'special interest groups' throughout
the world that are maintaining and attempting to refine bees of various
types. The system is not formalised as a 'gene bank', but it fulfils that
purpose.

It works best if the bee concerned is native to the area of the project
concerned.
