Interesting link...my daughter spent 3 years in Paraguay in the Peace Corp 
working with tje africanized bees along with educating the locals about the 
ecology of the region etc..  Of the dozens of swarms she caught and hives 
she worked she never encountered any real mean bees. I worked them with her 
down there with only cotton work gloves and a slip over hood/top...At first 
I was cautious to the point that the lady who owned the hives asked if I had 
ever worked bees before(I was in "prepare to boogie" mode!!)!! After I had 
worked the hives for awhile I ended up shedding my gloves and on an occasion 
or two my veil/shirt to see better....I was admittingly working more slowly 
than usual .
She has heard of horror stories however that made you nauseous to listen to.
