Hello,

I’m seeking a portrait of Edward Bevan.
Beeks in England, you have portraits of Bevan? Thanks

Also, an open question…

What person do you believe made the greatest ‘overall’ scientific contribution to the advancement of beekeeping and why? Not necessarily looking for inventors of beekeeping appliances, but someone who is recognized for disseminating an abundance of useful information to the beekeeping community.

I’m leaning towards Edward Bevan; author of `The Honey-bee: Its Natural History, Physiology, and Management of Honeybees' -1827, because the book was considered by many as the first work of bee literature possessing any claim to the character of scientific. Although, some scientific beekeepers in America at that time dismissed the book as having little information which was useful in American beekeeping, the book was ahead of its time, and preludes great advancements in beekeeping. Could Bevan have been the father of scientific beekeeping? ..who's your pick?

Thanks
J. Waggle
