Hi folks,

The recent Bee Culture issue contains an article that mentions queen egg
laying rates. The author mentions building colony strength by
checkerboarding. I have not seen this term in any of my numerous
beekeeping books, new or old. Does anyone on this list have an
explanation for the term "checkerboarding?"

Thank you,
Alf
