Hi Allen & all

Now there's a little gem!

I have for some time been concerned about the 'certainties' expressed in
beekeeping and the variabilities mentioned in Allen's few words sum it up.

Honey bees are not all the same, some vary by a large margin in habits and
behaviour, but very little attention is given to the pedigrees of stocks
that are used in studies and when it is mentioned it is just as a point of
record, not as a variable in the experiment... Perhaps it is the financial
constraints that are put on research these days, but it does call into
question the results obtained.

I think Trevor originally said this...

> > Anecdotal is not science but it does
> > make the good basis for a scientific experiment

To me this is what a discussion list helps to achieve... It brings out much
anecdotal information, which when viewed as a whole can indicate consensus
and point the way on how to test the issue under discussion.
