Based upon my quick search, it would appear that the anticipated
colonies/acre one could expect, for both annual support and surplus honey,
in a mixed rural/urban area with some limited orchards and ag fields, with
broad residential and wild open/forested areas in the greater SF East Bay
area, likely ranges from 1 colony/2 to 6 acres.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any valuable/informative input on this
issue as I am in the process of constructing a map of colony locations and
numbers for a local assoc. focus group to evaluate our KNOWN colony
density. Thank you very much!
