A question for all you experienced beekeeping travellers on the list.

Do the Apis cerana beekeepers in other parts of the world ever find it
necessary to use treatments for varroa (or tropilaelaps ) mites?

I ask because I wonder if cerana bees which have evolved to live with V
jacobsoni have difficulties coping with V destructor when that arrives?

Whilst I have always assumed that their grooming behaviour would cope with
the challenge presented by any mite infestation, I am now curious if that
is truly the case.

In Western Australia, where seasonal conditions have been delightfully
benign, the floral response has been outstanding, and the bees have
responded likewise. In fact it's been just like "the good old days!"
