However (and sad as this may be) with out the lawyers there would be no fear of being accused of wrong doing nor the threat of financial penalties.

Correct statement, but with a super simple and easy fix, which lawyers will fight to the death. Simple tort reform. Loser pays all cost. Put an end to frivolous nonsense.

Bigger issues here with these cases. Suing the EPA is Asinine. The EPA is designed to be the guardian. If you petion to change the process, so be it. But the EPA job is to set rules and regulate, What's happening here is lawyers on both sides are fishing for TAX dollars. In one manner or another, and since both Lawyers get paid, they view it as a win/win regardless of outcome.

This is like suing the police for enforcing a traffic rule. If you don't like the rule, then okay, but these lawsuits are chasing the enforcers. There were and are process for reviews of all these registrations. They should have spoke up then, or petition congress for revaluation after some period.

Point being there are a lot of better options. These cases are sick, and interesting at the same time. On one hand we have a group trying to get us the best and safest food in the world(and doing a dam good job IMO) and on the other hand we have a group sueing about every single possible improvement.

Don't delude yourself into thinking these or the new "Rachel Carsons" These are a lot of wannabe activist, with no data. At least Carson, had a real issue to fight for. Spraying a pesticide on things that don't need it, is no where near the issues of accumulated DDT.

Charles
