An article in "Bee Biz" (issue 3, May 1996, page 28) mentioned a Dr. Joe
Riley at the Natural Resources Institute Radar Unit who recently
developed the harmonic radar technique for tracking low-flying insects.
It also mentioned that the Institute of Arable Crops Research (IACR) at
Rothamsted have used the technique to track both honey and bumble bees
on a radar display.
