A few years ago I was trying to do an Apistan resistance test by
putting 1/4 cup of bees in a pint jar with a wire top and an index
card with a 3/8 X 1" inch piece of Apistan strip stapled to it. I
couldn't get any results because the bees would die before the
recommended six hours, I tried a couple of times, bees from different
hives. I have keep bees in jars for many days before but with that
piece of Apistan in there they couldn't seem to live long enough to
complete my test. So I will not put Apistan in my hives since my bees
seem to have no resistance.
