There is an article in the February Issue of Beekeeping the Devon Beekeepers' magazine in which the point is made that so far the experiment shows that this would be a method for control not cure. There initial mite load needs to at a low level.

Emily’s  presentation was concerned with an experiment
 to see whether the mite, Stratiolaelaps, that attacks the red mite that afflicts poultry, will also attack the Varroa
mite. 

The treated colonies were given about 800 Stratiolaelaps mites on 11th April, 9th May, 26th June and 18th September.
