Straying a little off topic, I wonder what happens to the birds in areas  
where insecticides are used.  Their food supply may be reduced, thereby  
possibly reducing breeding success, and what they are feeding on as 'top  
predator' is likely to have a sub-lethal dose of chemicals.  How many  insects 
sub-lethally affected does it take to affect a swift lethally  (haven't seen 
many of those around this year).
