Hello, Just my opinion here. I think the bees have been selected 
purposefully or intuitively for gentleness. Didn't Brother Adam also 
select for very gentle bees?
Anyhow, glad you don't need to use smoke which can be irritating to the 
beekeeper's lungs. My spouse likes the way the smoke scent lingers on 
myself, I guess like a kind of "Beekeeper's Cologne."
