If you want to really help bees go to your local hardware store and ask
them to trash the carpenter bee traps! I was in a local Ace Hardware store
the other day and they had carpenter bee traps with "honey bee friendly"
burned into the side!!!! I see these things for sale all over this part of
the United States and in situ see them partially full of dead carpenter
bees. When I see one at someone's home I tell them what amazing
pollinators carpenter bees are and a little bit about their life cycle.
Most folks are shocked to learn that honey bees are an introduced
species.... They even sell an little electrified 'tennis racket' that can
be used to swat them out of the air and electrify them.

save those native pollinators!
