In the study I referenced, as I understand it, she is evaluating feral
colonies in an effort to determine if they are the product of recent swarms
from managed colonies or longer term ferals. In essence, she is hoping to
determine if the genuine feral bee population is actually increasing. Again,
just my interpretation.
