It's also the ingredient that New Zealand proposed to use to poison the bees in an effort to eradicate honeybees as a method of eliminating varroa. Hawaii considered it, but the manufacturer BASF 
will not allow it to be used in this manner. It's the active ingredient in FrontLine flea and tick products, I believe.
