When comparing spider mites to varroa the big control difference as a long time Bonsai tree grower is spider mites hide on the underside of leaves. The underside of the leaf is the place to look for spider mites.

The systemic pesticides (merit) provide better control than the.older sprays.

In larger plantings blast sprayers are used to get mites and others hid under leaves.

Varroa on the other.hand if not in cells is an easy target for most treaments .

All controls are simply put tools for the.beekeeper to attempt to control mites.

Like all tools the result is usually based on abilty of the person deciding the method and timing of application.
