I've perused the archives and was unable to find any references to the pollination of plum trees.   I got a call today requesting some hives to pollinate some plum trees.  My daughter took the call so I don't know the size of the plum orchard to be pollinated.  The area is lower Alabama and the fruit trees are about to pop.

My question is:  How many hives per acre are recommended for plum pollination?  If the number of trees is not large, i.e. ten to twenty, would one hive do the job?  Bob H., I know you are into apples but maybe there is a correlation?
